On April 12-13, 2008, 123 animals were sterilized in Palenque, bringing the total to 492 thanks to the generous grant of D. Reuben and the MRF (anonymous). Dr. Letty, Dr. Isis, Tammy, Alberto, Daniel, Ernesto, Marlen and Pat departed Panama City on Saturday evening, April 12, 2008. Traffic was horrendous, it took us over 3 hours to reach Palenque. Traps were set up and people brought in their animals immediately; animals were registered and the doctors operated until all 24 animals were done, past 11:00p.m. Dr. Letty, Dr. Isis, Tammy, Alberto, Daniel, Ernesto, Marlen y Pat salieron de la ciudad de Panamá en la tarde del sábado 12 de abril de 2008. El tráfico estaba fatal y nos cogió más de 3 horas llegar a Palenque. Las trampas se pusieron y la gente de Palenque trajeron sus animales inmediatamente; los animales se registraron y los doctores operaron los 24 que llegaron hasta pasada las 11:00p.m. Daniel and Ernesto were scheduled to leave the next day, unfortunately Marlen got sick that night and had to leave too. On Sunday, April 13, 2008, Dr. Raquel and Rebeca arrived; Dr. Rene did not come because he got sick with what we thought was his second bout of dengue, luckily it was only a bad cold.
