was our fourth sterilization campaign in Veracruz. People formed
lines early Saturday morning, despite being told the team would be
arriving after 5pm on Saturday.

Clinic
was set up in less than 30 minutes and all stations prepared. 100
animals were sterilized, vaccinated, dewormed, sprayed against fleas
and ticks, had their ears cleaned and injected with vitamins in six
hours.
On Sunday people started arriving at 6am. 101 animals were sterilized and treated in five hours.

Results:
201 animals sterilized:
187 dogs
(155 females and 32 males)
14 cats
(10 females and 4 males)
By sterilizing 155 female dogs, we have avoided 10,385,000 puppies to be born in the next six years.
By sterilizing 10 female cats, we have avoided 4,200,000 kittens to be born in the next seven years.
To
breakeven, we must collect $25 per dog and $12 per cat. We should
have collected $4,843.00. Instead we collected $1,159.70 + $845
from Savannah volunteers' dog wash for a total of $2,004.70 or 42%, not
including transportation and food.
