Adoptions Projects Financial Statements Donate Contact us Pet Memorial	SAN FELIPE SAN FELIPE ha sido designado patrimonio de la humanidad por la UNESCO pero en el área hay muchos animales hambrientos y enfermos.  SAN FELIPE has been designated world heritage by UNESCO but the area has too many sick and hungry animals.         Buenas noticias:  la agencia de bienes raices Arco nos cede un local con agua y luz en Calle Séptima, Presidencia, sin costo alguno para que operemos.  Esto facilita nuestra labor enormemente porque los animales se atrapan, se guardan en el local, se operan y se sueltan una vez que están alertas.  Los guardianes de bajos recursos pueden venir caminando al local.  Good news:   Arco Properties let us use an apartment with water and electricity at no cost in 7th Street near the Presidency, to perform the operations.  This makes the work easier because the animals are trapped, brought to the station, operated and released once they are alert.  Low-income guardians can come walking with their pets.  . A pesar que llovió, los voluntarios no les importó y fueron a traer los animales.  Se operaron, desparasitaron y vacunaron un total de 35 animales el domingo 25 de noviembre de 2007.  32 animales fueron atrapados y 5 animales fueron traidos por sus guardianes.  Dos de los gatos atrapados se pusieron a dormir por estar en terribles condiciones.  Even though it rained, the volunteers did not care and went out to bring the animals.  35 animals were operated, dewormed and vaccinated on Sunday, November 25, 2007.  32 animals were trapped and 5 animals were brought in by their guardians.  Two of the trapped cats were put down because they were in terrible shape.   Se pide una contribución de $20 por perro y $10 por gato y ningún animal es rechazado si el guardián o rescatador no pueda dar la contribución.  En este día no se recibió un centavo de contribución.  Ojalá las personas que viven en este área cooperen comprando un calendario.  100% de los ingresos de calendarios vendidos en el Casco Viejo se destinarán exclusivamente para el proyecto de esterilizaciones de San Felipe.  Hasta ahora se han vendido 5 calendarios en el Casco Viejo.   A contribution of $20 per dog and $10 per cat is suggested but no animal is rejected if the guardian/rescuer can not give the contribution.  On this day not one cent of contribution was received.  Hopefully the people that live in this area will cooperate buying a 2008 calendar.  100% of the income from calendars sold at the Casco Viejo will be earmarked for the sterilization campaign in San Felipe.  So far 5 calendars have been sold in the Casco Viejo. El Dr. Vega del Ministerio de Salud vacunó los animales contra rabia.  Dr. Vega from the Health Ministry vaccinated the animals against rabies.       La Dra. Letty Guajardo y la Dra. Raquel Fuster operaron ese dia.  El próximo evento de operaciones será el domingo 13 de enero de 2008.  Hemos extendido una invitación a la Dirección del Casco Viejo y a las autoridades para que unamos esfuerzos para mejorar la calidad de vida de los animales y al mismo tiempo hacer San Felipe más atractivo a los turistas.   Dr. Letty Guajardo and Dr. Raquel Fuster operated that day.  The next blitz date is Sunday, January 13, 2008.  We have invited the Casco Viejo Office and the authorities to join forces to improve the welfare of the animals and at the same time make San Felipe more attractive to the tourists.
