For many people, Bocas del Toro is paradise.  Yet there are many that see beyond the beauty, the suffering of the homeless animals.  Susan and Kristine took the initiative to make a difference and organize a blitz with the support of many volunteers/donors and Spay/Panama.
Getting the staff, equipment and medical supplies was no easy feat, and very expensive.  

51 dogs and 20 cats were operated on, dewormed, vaccinated against rabies, had their ears cleaned, were dusted with flea/tick powder, and given an injection of vitamins.  No formal census was made of the animal population, therefore it is impossible to determine what percentage of the population was sterilized.  All the operations and treatments were done on a donation basis, no animal was rejected if the guadian could not contribute.

Para muchas personas, Bocas del Toro es el paraíso.  Sin embargo muchos ven más allá de la belleza, el sufrimiento de los animales callejeros.  Susan y Kristine tomaron la iniciativa de hacer una diferencia y organizar una campaña de esterilizaciones con el apoyo de muchos voluntarios/patrocinadores y Spay/Panama.
Llevar el equipo médico e insumos no fue fácil, y fue muy costoso.  
51 perros y 20 gatos fueron esterilizados, desparasitados, vacunados contra rabia, sus orejitas limpiadas, espolvoreados contra pulgas y garrapatas, y se les dio una inyección de vitaminas.  No se hizo un censo formal de la población animal de manera que es imposible determinar que porcentaje de la población fue esterilizada.   Totas las operaciones/tratamientos se hicieron en base a donación y ningún animal fue rechazado si el guardían no podía contribuir.

Un perro macho callejero con un tumor grande y un Caracara, ave de rapiña que fue apedreada, se pusieron a dormir.
